BRASIL. 1870. PORTO ALEGRE to NEW YORK. Entire letter franked with a strip of three of 80 reis stamp carried by the French Packet ´Amazone to Bordeaux and by the Steamer ´City of Paris´ via London to New York. Oval red INSUFICIENTE mark and FR/2F 96c accountancy mark, charged 38 cts. on arrival. A remarkable double Atlantic crossing and very rare franking. Ex. E. Santos and M. Chusyd. Cert. ROUMET.
